Raising funds for charity through storytelling
— Project Management
For three years I was hired on contract to edit and manage the annual Calgary Herald Christmas Fund, which raises over $1 million every year for 12 different charities in the city.
My task was to coordinate the daily coverage for the six-week campaign, which included assigning stories to writers, photographs and videographers, and enlisting dozens of prominent Calgarians to write guest columns. I also needed to work seamlessly with the Postmedia print and online production teams.
Shining a spotlight on the less-fortunate in our community and raising money to help them is gratifying work.
